Vibecast Music

“Esquire” was born John Hewitt of Barbadian parents in Brooklyn.  He began his journey in music early, taking piano lessons from the age of 8.  He hasn’t stopped hitting the keys since.

Esquire applied his keyboarding talent towards being a founding member of Technic Band.  The band would go on to become a chart-topper with the soca hit Ride It.  Esquire’s love for playing music grew into the curiosity of creating music.  He began composing and producing songs for Technic and other musicians.  Eventually, he would open up a full-fledged recording and production studio. Vibecast Music and the Front Room Studio were born.

Vibecast Music utilizes the latest in cutting edge technology while maintaining standards of the full, rich sounds of timeless classic recordings.  As Esquire put it, “Vibecast Music creates analog music in a digital world.”

During his ongoing tenure with Technic and at his Front Room studio, Esquire has worked alongside, produced and recorded many world renowned artists such as Shabba Ranks, Freddie McGregor, Luciano, Michael Rose and to name a few. He has also toured from New York to Los Angeles, and many places in between with artists such as Eek-A-Mouse and the roots reggae artist Taj Weekes & Adowa.

Esquire is a classically trained musician, not a “press button” producer, as he put it.  He has the uncanny ability to make virtually any type of music; from soca and reggae, to hip hop, pop, R & B to gospel and soul.
